Principal Secretary in the ministry of agriculture Richard Lesiyampe has absolved the ministry from blame in the ongoing investigations into how tonnes of contraband sugar were imported into the country. Appearing before the joint Parliamentary committee on trade and agriculture, Lesiyampe deflected blame to the Kenya Revenue Authority saying they should provide more answers why companies that had been blacklisted were allowed to bring sugar into the country.
