Aditi Shekar - Director of Search for Ashoka

As part of a greater movement with no real center or name, the Common Ground Youth Coalition is interviewing leading young change-makers to create a snapshot of what young people are doing for their generation nationally, and globally. The goal is to showcase young people from all walks of life who have been successful at making a change in the world, in any sector - public, private, political, religious, social, cultural, non-profit, etc. We hope that our collective work can demonstrate how youth can solve today's issues, work across traditional boundaries, and inspire others to do the same. Aditi first joined Ashoka in 2008 and has worked within Ashoka's Search, News & Knowledge, and Global Marketing teams. Currently, she works with Ashoka's Changemakers in cultivating partnerships and developing new products and services. Before Ashoka, Aditi worked with Ashoka Fellow Charles Best's organization, DonorsChoose, where she learned the art of running a successful social enterprise. Aditi graduated from the UNC Chapel Hill with a double major in Business Administration and Psychology. Having lived and studied in six countries, her background has encouraged her to be an active change agent. In the near future, she plans to become a leader in bridging the gap between the social and private sector.
