On to our final location from The Steel City... Welcome to the abandoned factory of Stanley Tools. The home of the Stanley Knife. ?
The beginners slope. Abandoned Sheffield Ski Village was an interesting one for me and Dan, we both came here on a trip from college in the winter of '06. So we were surprised when we heard that this place was abandoned...
Stanley Tools started life as the Industry Works of James Arscott Chapman, who specialised in metal plane and tool making. The site was first acquired by Stanley in 1937.
Piles of tyres, barriers, tubes and cargo nets seemed to be a feature throughout the former Stanley Tools factory. Our best guess was that the place had been used for either military or police training. I've since learned that Stanley Tools was recently used as a Zombie Infection Survival Experience..
