A Journey up the Profile Trail

This is one of the hardest trails on Grandfather Mountain. A serious elevation gain over 3.2 miles to the top. It is called Profile because you can see the profile of the old man on the mountain when you get up higher. This runs into the Grandfather Trail. There's one place to get water and there's also a place to camp and have a fire. Permits are required.
