Study after study shows that men have a huge need for emotional attraction to build a healthy relationship. And I'm going to share something with you that I think most women get wrong when it comes to attracting men. And one thing that a lot of women don't realize when it comes to attraction is that emotional attraction can also be driven by a sexual desire in someone. In one study that we saw, Dr. Sandra Metts asked 286 participants to think about the different turning points in their present, or past, relationships. And one question she hoped to answer was whether there is a difference if the couple had made a commitment to be exclusive before having sex, or if they had sex first, and then went in for a committed relationship. What she found, that's fascinating but not surprising, is that those people who had sex first, before they were in a committed relationship, those people looked back on the first time they had sex, as being kind of a negative experience. And it evoked a kind of a feeling of regret. And this is true for both men and women. So long story short, even if a guy is telling you he wants to sleep with you or showing you all of the signs, please slow it down, withhold him. Yes, of course, you can tell him that yes, you would love to be with him and that he is sexy, that you love his smell, that you love being around him, that you love when he touches you. But, do not give in, slow down, until it turns into something real.
