''Seven puppies were burnt alive'' by the Government municipal officials at a public park on the name of Cleanliness, at Pir Mahal District Toba. We are trying to sensitize public and raising awareness to stop animal cruelty cases in Pakistan. Horrible to see government institutions and officials publicly breaking laws. We demand from CM Punjab & Prime minister of Pakistan to take action against all those officials who gave orders to burn poor stray animals in public park for purpose cleanliness & also update animal cruelty laws to stop such cruelty cases in future (SHAME) Section 3 of prevention of cruelty to Animals 1890 provides:- Penalty for cruelty to animals__ if any person:- a) Overdrives, beats, or otherwise treats any animals so as to subject it to unnecessary pain or suffering, or b) Binds, keeps, carries or consigns for carriage any animal is such manner or position as to subject it to unnecessary pain or suffering. He shall be punished, in the case of a first offence, with FINE which may extend to ‘’FIFTY RUPEES’’ Or with imprisonment for term which may extend to ONE MONTH, and in the case of second or subsequent offence committed within three years of the previous offence, with fine which may extend to ‘’ONE HUNDERED RUPEES’’ or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with both, YES Pakistani laws against Animal cruelty is outdated and need urgent updating.
