40 Years After Elvis’ Death, Priscilla Presley Has Shared This Disturbing Secret About The King

However, his widow Priscilla Presley recently proved that assumption wrong by making a shocking revelation about her enigmatic ex-husband. And while it’s an important secret when it comes to understanding the man behind the glitzy on-stage persona, it’s also quite a disturbing one, too… Elvis Presley’s musical career, however, is well documented in the annals of pop culture. He was a leading light in the rock and roll movement of the ’50s and ’60s, sent girls into a frenzy with his hip-shaking live performances and dominated the charts with his monumental studio recordings. Still, his career trajectory was one littered with mountain-peak highs and rock-bottom lows. Even when he was first setting the music industry ablaze in the ’50s, for instance, life dealt a harsh blow. That’s because Elvis was drafted to the U.S. Army at the height of his popularity while, at the same time, having to contend with the death of his mother. However, things began to look up for the musical icon in 1959. After being posted to Germany during his military service, he was introduced to a 14-year-old girl by the name of Priscilla Beaulieu. She was the same girl he would go on to marry eight years later. And, undeterred by Beaulieu’s age, Presley began to court the girl. Speaking to Good Morning America in 2007, the wife of the legendary crooner spoke about Elvis’ thoughts on her youth. “He went, ‘Oh! A baby! You’re just a kid,’” Priscilla recalled. She added, “Elvis was 24 at the time, so I started feeling very, very young.” That awkwardness was soon put to rest, though, when they embarked on a serious romance together. And this eventually culminated in Beaulieu moving into Graceland with Presley while she was still at a very tender age. In fact, at the time, she was yet to finish high school. And Elvis’ former wife has freely admitted that she was probably too young to be dealing with such grown-up issues. For example, she told the Daily Telegraph in 2016, “I did grow up too fast. And I was put in very adult situations as a young girl, for sure.” However, she also asserted in the same interview that the two had an eternal bond. “I learned who I am because of Elvis,” she said. “I learned so much from his music and how he lived: his fears, his loves and his beliefs became mine as well. So much so, that when it ended I really had to find out who I was.” But despite feeling like she had grown up too fast, one thing Priscilla didn’t engage in for seven years was sex with her partner. Indeed, she was a virgin right up until her wedding night – the pinnacle of seven years together with the rock and roll trailblazer. The pair tied the knot in the spring of 1967, reciting their vows to one another in Las Vegas’ Aladdin Hotel. The event was held in secret, and besides a select few in the press, it was mostly just close, personal friends of the couple who attended.
