After capturing data, 3D modelling is created in Trimble Realworks, which combines 3D scanning, imaging and positioning. With Realworks, we extract the point-cloud captured in our 3D laser survey and can create CAD models and simulation movies. 3D laser scanning in concert with a CAD model rendering tool like Realworks, is most useful when there is a lot of data, when speed and a high level of accuracy are desired, and when creating an accurate visual record for retrofits, prototyping, or accuracy checking of construction of past surveys is necessary. 3D laser scanning in marine surveying are a perfect fit.
