A power transformer is an essential electrical component for an industry. When you are receiving power from the national grid and you want to transfer it to your machinery then the voltage range must be adjustable with machinery required voltage. But it can be different if you are working in heavy industry like Cement factory.
But in my place, we are having low voltage machinery like 390-410V AC. But we received 33KV main power line from our national grid. We don't have a personal power station where we can generate power for us. So it is the last dependable power source for us.
We are using 2 power transformers. First one is 33/11KV and another one is 11/0.415KV. In this video, I just show you 33/11KV Power transformer. This transformer made in Bangladesh and it was brand new. It is an oil type transformer that means its internal cooling system will use transformer oil. It has an oil temperature meter and it will trip the transformer when its internal temperature will increase than the set value.
There are 2 radiators with this transformer and an oil reserves at the top of the transformer. This transformer has a special feature. It's called Auto Tap Changing Transformer. That’s means if our main incoming line voltage from the national grid is not 33KV then it will maintain its output voltage as required 11KV. Sometime grid line voltage can be incense or drops then ordinary transformer can't do anything with that. But our transformer can adjust the output voltage if the incoming voltage is between 24-34KV.
This transformer output side is 11KV which is an impute voltage side for another transformer and its rating is 11/0.415KV. For this connection, we use HT Cable or you can say XLP copper cable. This cable is a special type of cable with better insulation. There will not be any voltage leak when we are using this cable. For incoming 33KV connection, we used naked aluminum cable. This transformer will control by HT panel from switchgear room.
