Senior Otsuchi High school student Mayu Kashiwazaki and her friends are eager to take part in a one-day work experience at Morioka Red Cross Hospital to see what it's like being a Japanese Red Cross Nurse. "During the disaster, I saw nurses gently caring for children, and it drove my passion to become a pediatric nurse," she says. Fellow student Yumeko Kitada says: "My mother is a nurse. I saw nurses treating injured people in an evacuation center and giving them comfort. I also felt soothed when they talked to me. That's why I got interested in becoming a nurse."
