2112 Overture/Temples Of Syrinx Bass Cover

Has anybody ever figured out the timing for the intro? After nearly 30 years I still haven't; which explains the couple of minor timing errors in this clip. I recently watched the VH1 Classic Albums DVD that has a small segment with Neil playing along with the recording. He does a subtle, one, two thing with his hands (as if he were conducting) before each hit. That's the biggest clue I've been given yet. While I'm asking questions, has anyone seen the cover of this song on YouTube featuring the spinning Christmas tree during the spacy-synth intro? I think it has a surreal quality to it.
