2019 Mazda CX 9 Interior and Exterior - As far as mid-life updates go, the 2019 Mazda CX-9 gets a fairly tame but genuinely important revision, which adds to its already impressive list of large SUV credentials.
Believe it or not, this is already the second update for the ‘new’ CX-9, and the tech-heavy focus of the changes here aims at improving and enhancing the standard offering, in what I would call crucial areas. Mazda’s stated aim is to deliver an even stronger value proposition in what continues to be an incredibly competitive segment. And as such, the Japanese manufacturer has added more value in terms of equipment than the shift upward in price would indicate.

The luxurious Signature trim now comes with a new wood trim inside and exclusive exterior badging.

It doesn’t quite handle the off-road like competing vehicles. The Kia Sorento felt more planted and the Honda Pilot was more athletic. Our impressions on those cars are coming soon. Despite that, the Mazda CX-9 figured things out just fine. The four-wheel articulation was not very good, but much of that has to do with its sportier suspension setup. It forced quite a few moments of three-wheel driving, where one wheel is off the ground because of the lack of articulation. It’s a bit of an odd duck off the beaten path, but the articulation issue is a small trade-off for its outstanding on-road performance.
