Mercedes-Benz offers a full complement of active safety technology, but most of the equipment is optional even at the GLS’s high asking price. What’s New for 2018? The GLS-class still hasn’t been crash-tested by NHTSA or IIHS, but IIHS has dubbed its front-crash-prevention technology as Basic and rated the GLS as Good for ease of child-seat LATCH anchor use.
