Push the handle to apply the parking brake. The electric parking brake can be applied even with the ignition OFF or the key removed. To release, place the ignition in the ON position with your foot on the brake pedal, and pull the parking brake handle towards you. This indicator light comes on to show the parking brake is applied when the ignition is ON. When releasing the parking brake, make sure the light is OFF before driving.
