The Mishimoto Cut and Clamp Resonator Delete X-pipe fits 2015–2017 Ford Mustang GTs. The X-pipe replaces the factory resonator with a straight through stainless steel tubing that will allow more exhaust flow and increase the sound and tone of the exhaust system. This is an easy to install and inexpensive way of changing the sound of the factory exhaust system, without the need to purchase an entire cat back exhaust system. The factory resonator is like another muffler on the Mustang, that suppresses sound and power. This new X-pipe will be installed after the cat and before the factory muffler, allowing the exhaust system to still be smog legal and improve the overall sound and performance of the system. It’s important to note that this is an X-pipe design that produces a raspier tone, when compared to stock and unlike an H-pipe, which produces a lower deeper tone. Durable Construction. The Mishimoto X-pipe is constructed from free flowing mandrel bent 2.5-inch 304 stainless steel tubing for high strength and great durability. The pipe is designed to significantly improve overall exhaust flow through the system, while delivering a distinct raspy tone. The X-pipe also comes with all the clamps and hardware needed for the installation. Bolt-On Installation. The X-pipe is designed to be a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory resonator. You will have to cut out your factory resonator and use the provided clamps to install the new X-pipe into position between the factory cat and muffler, but the overall install can be done within 2-hours with basic hand tools.
