Roomba i-Robot 660 vs Neato XV-21 Pet Allergy Before I started, I sprinkled a lot of birdseed shells and feathers. Although it's not obvious in the video, it was easy to see the cleaned areas when it was done. The line down the centre is from the Neato to stop it from passing over. There is a box that the i-Robot uses to not pass that point (which the Neato knocks over). The Neato seemed to go right up to the line, where the i-Robot didn't want to go near it. The i-Robot seems to go in a random pattern, and sometimes does the same area a few times and misses other areas. (I just tell it to spot clean for the spot it missed). The Neato has an eye that looks around the room to start and goes around the edges first to know where the room and objects are, before doing the centre. The i-Robot did a better job around objects and with its little sweeper out the right side, it tends to pick up stuff the other can't get to. The Neato leaves about 1"-2" of dirt around the outside edge or around items, and didn't do a good job on the edge of the carpet. From other feedback I've seen, the Neato will pick up where it left off after charging, where the i-Robot just starts again when you press the button. Both seem to have about the same capacity on a charge, Both return to their charging stations when needed. They seemed to do about the same job actually cleaning. To do a spot-clean, the i-Robot has a one-touch. The Neato you have to go into the menu. I never tried the scheduling on it, but they seem about the same except when the i-Robot runs out of power, it won't continue where it left off afterwards like the Neato does. My personal opinion is that they are both equally good, and it all depends on what you are looking for. If you want a vacuum robot that does big areas, main walking areas, and you don't want it hitting furniture much, go with the Neato. If you have a lot of stuff or furniture, the i-Robot is good for placing where you need it, tell it to go, and come back later to a clean area. Also see my other videos on the comparison.
