He has brought Corneil along with him to keep him company. When Corneil solves a difficult chemical equation, Bernie is mistakenly credited with it and hailed as a genius… and his troubles really begin. He decides not to tell Julie about his accident, in case she decides to go to the dance with someone else instead. Bernie is convinced she will never find out about his broken leg if he is clever… and has Corneil on hand to help him out. *** The Diary 1:24:06 *** Bernie finds Corneil’s diary and wants to read it to see what Corneil has written about him. Corneil won’t let him. Bernie is determined to find out what Corneil has written in his diary and will go to any lengths to do so. *** Don Cornelius 1:34:48 *** Not only is the new chef at the café a terrible cook, he is a known crook. Corneil immediately recognises Joe the Scoundrel. Joe overhears Corneil talking to Bernie and instantly recognises the voice of “Inspector Cornelius”, who caught him and sent him to jail. Joe demands to meet the inspector. How can Corneil and Bernie make sure he doesn’t find out “Cornelius” is a dog?
