Originally, the "Silverado" designation was used to denote the higher level trim that was available on Chevy C and K pickups from 1975 to 1999. In 1999, the Silverado was introduce to replace the popular C/K series. In 1986, the C/K models with the Silverado trim did not see any changes in the specs other than a new throttle body fuel-injection system. The engine of the Silverado boasts a 4.3L V8 with up to 200 horsepower. The four-speed transmission comes standard as an automatic. Two-wheel drive is standard, with a four-wheel drive option. Power steering, power brakes, and cruise control are standard. The throttle body fuel injection is a new addition for the 1986 model. The standard version uses unleaded regular fuel, with a diesel fuel option available. The engine itself is a dual overhead camshaft made of cast iron with aluminum cylinder heads. The wheelbase of the Silverado is 118 inches. It has a dual exhaust system. It originally came with a fitted chrome bumper and tires with alloy rims. The Silverado has dual sports mirrors standard as well. The inside of the SIlverado is carpeted and wood grained. Seats are made of leather and are reclinable.
