1966 Jose Ramirez 1A Classical Guitar "The Segovia Model" Brazilian RW/Spanish Cedar, RARE - DEMO

We are excited to showcase this 1966 Jose Ramirez (III) Classical Guitar. This is a very Rare Segovia Model Class 1a that is larger in scaled in every aspect. It was designed by Jose Ramirez III according to Segovia's wishlist. All the original sales paperwork and correspondence regarding this guitar from the Ramirez workshop is included with the purchase of this guitar. This is a one owner guitar who under the recommendation of Michael Lorimer, a direct understudy of Segovia, the family went to Spain to the factory and ordered the guitar. The student/owner of the guitar played guitar from about 1966-1970 and gave it up. It has been in its case until his retirement this year. The Music Mill purchased the instrument to bring it back to life and hopefully you can tell, mission has been accomplished!! The guitar was sent to Allen Watsky in NJ (https://www.linkedin.com/in/allen-watsky-21213818) who is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable luthiers specializing in Classical Guitars. He heat treated to get the neck angle perfect, planed the fingerboard and refretted. The nut and saddle are original but were adjusted. The instrument was carefully cleaned, cleaned and oiled the tuners. The guitar is all original (except the frets) with original case. No cracked dents or splits. Surface scratches as shown. As mentionted above this is a larger than normal sized Classical guitar. Scale is about 660.6cm versus a traditional classical at 650cm. The fingerboard is Canted by design. Action is 10/64 on bass side versus 8/64 on standard scale classical (by design) and 8/64 on treble side versus 6/64 (by design). It is an adjustment to go to this instrument from a standard scale classical but if you have larger than normal hands, or want the best sonically pure and loud concert instrument, this is right guitar for you.
