1966 Ford 4000 Tractor Cold Start

My method for starting up my Ford tractor. I am lighting up a sponge soaked in diesel fuel, to let the hot air get into the intake, so I'll make it start up easy. I thought this tractor was made in 1974, but then I checked the product code on the right side of the engine, and I found out that it's actually an 1966 Ford 4000 model. Not 1974.
