1960 DeSoto Adventurer 4 Door Sedan

A nice example...looks original! At this point, DeSoto was losing its identity, becoming more and more like Chrysler. Chrysler still had the top status at MOPAR, so why would someone spend a significant amount of money and not get the top car on the ladder? Besides, the rumors were flying that DeSoto was headed for the dustbin. Too bad, because DeSotos made many fine cars over the years...great examples of Virgil Exner's work in 55 thru 59. Who can forget all those taxis in New York City in the 30's thru the 40's...mostly stretch DeSotos!
