One of several Sammy Cahn-Saul Chaplin titles written for the 1937 stage production “New Grand Terrace Revue.” Audio transfer & label scan kindly provided by Thomas Bragg of Jacksonville FL, who writes: “Hello, I’ve been collecting 78rpm records for many years…Shaw, Goodman, Fazola, Bix, Louis, etc. 50 years ago I acquired this Shaw test pressing--take 2 of Brunswick 7934--from another collector. It is a one-sided record, eleven inches wide. I’ve never seen it listed in any discography. As I’m getting older I thought that I should share it with collectors around the world. Mr. Bob Moke does a fabulous job cleaning up these old records so I’ve asked him to present it on YouTube. I hope you enjoy.” Thanks, Tom! From test pressing of Brunswick matrix 21424-2 (21424-1 was issued commercially on Brunswick 7934) - If You Ever Should Leave (Sammy Cahn-Saul Chaplin) by Art Shaw and his New Music, vocal by Peg LaCentra, recorded in NYC July 22, 1937
