The Armenian Tradional Music Ensemble was established in the mids of 2012-2013 due to the cooperation of a prominent tar player, honorable figure of Armenian Culture, Mr. Hovik Sahakyan and the Ministry of Culture of RA within the scopes of the “Restoration and Development of National Instruments” project, by which such long-forgotten ancient instruments like Armenian harp, Sebastian Santour and Hamshenian Kemani were restored. In collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences, together with the scientific stuff of the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan the unknown songs and music were dug up and presented to the public.
The group consists of 12 musicians.
On October 31, 2013, the Armenian Traditional Music Ensemble made its debut in the Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum-House, where it received a high appraisal of the President of RA and other distinguished guests.
In 2013 the band participated in the International Festival of Traditional Music in Gyumri, where the members of the group were awarded the title of Master Performers of Gyumri.
In November 2013 the band participated at a series of events organized within the frames of “Armenian Loop: Carpet Making Traditions” international conference.
On June18, 2014 the Traditional Music Ensemble had its premiere at Aram Khachatryan Concert Hall.
On July 21, 2014 the Traditional Music Ensemble set up a concert program at Cafesjian Center for the Art.

On July 2014, the Armenian Traditional Music Ensemble toured to various cities of Armenia, Goris, Sevan, Martuni, Ijevan, Gyumri.
From 3rd to 17th February 2015, representing the Republic of Armenia, the Traditional Music Ensemble had a magnificent performance at the 29th annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela in India.
On November 12, 2015 the second solo concert of the Armenian Traditional Music Ensemble was held at the Komitas Museum, where the Minister and Deputy Minister of Culture of RA, as well as other prominent representatives of the world of science and culture were present.
