Jack was found in a ditch when he was just weeks old. What are you doing? He could barely stand or walk. Heather agreed to foster Jack through the Pits R Us rescue group. Come on. After many vet visits and an MRI, doctors diagnosed him with cervical myelopathy. I love this dog so much. The MRI showed the vertebrae in his neck area to be severely enlarged and causing pressure on his spinal cord which caused his front legs to grow abnormally. Heather dedicated herself to improving Jack’s mobility.

With patience and a lot of support, Jack was moving more and more independently. He seemed unstoppable. He adapted to walk on all kinds of surfaces. Jack was supposed to be Heather’s foster puppy but the thought of him leaving her was no longer an option. He also has a wonderful personality and loves to play with other dogs.

Sadly, in the past weeks, Jack has been slowing down as far as walking goes and will likely need a custom cart. His elbows are now luxated, meaning that they are at a point where they are almost unusable. His joints are severely large in his front neck, leg area. But his deformed body has never stopped him from being happy. He is still full of energy and eats like a pig.

Heather says, Jack has taught her the true meaning of love and most important of all, to never give up.
