Wikileaks’ Editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson denouncing an alleged botched CIA plot to kidnap Julian Assange, speaking to RT from Reykjavik on Tuesday.
Speaking from his home, Hrafnsson said that “if there was any doubt about the political nature of the indictment and the creation of the entire case, it is now confirmed to be so, it is a political persecution, and nothing else.”
He also said that “The same time, the Saudis were contemplating and planning to assassinate Khashoggi in Turkey, at the same time, the CIA is contemplating assassinating Julian Assange, in London. This is gone way beyond anything that I had expected, I have to be honest.”
He also said that they were aware something was “going on”, and that this report, which cited 30 US officials, including IT experts, confirmed their suspicion.
A report citing former US officials and published by Yahoo News on Sunday claimed the CIA discussed abducting and assassinating Assange during the Trump administration in 2017.

SOT, Kristinn Hrafnsson, Wikileaks Chief Editor: “These are stunning revelations, it’s quite shocking to see that this was being concocted in the [United] States, kidnapping and possibly killing. We had to wind up some of this before, through the proceedings in Spain, criminal proceedings against members of the security company UC Global, who were supposed to be overseeing Julian Assange’s security in the Ecuadorian Embassy but actually were bribed by the CIA to spy on Julian, providing live feeds from cameras inside the embassy, and through devices that they implanted on top of that, of course they were stealing legally privileged material, copying forms and computers of those who visited, etc. This has all come to the surface in the criminal proceedings and attested towards that by former employees who are now protected witnesses in the case.”

SOT, Kristinn Hrafnsson, Wikileaks Chief Editor: “Yes, we saw, actually Julian took photographs and videos of teams that were assembled outside the embassy. We knew that there were activities going on towards that nature. I never brought my phone at the embassy, for example, for a period because they would demand to get access to it and it could be compromised. We knew that this twist was going on. Something was very busy going on. The length they were willing to go, and there were no obstacles, nothing was conceived as unthinkable in the process.”

SOT, Kristinn Hrafnsson, Wikileaks Chief Editor: “The same time, the Saudis were contemplating and planning to assassinate Khashoggi in Turkey, at the same time, the CIA is contemplating assassinating Julian Assange, in London. This is gone way beyond anything that I had expected, I have to be honest.”

SOT, Kristinn Hrafnsson, Wikileaks Chief Editor: “It should have a bearing in any normal circumstances, so there are two main reasons for that. One is of course that if Julian is extradited to the United States, it will be in the hands of the CIA to decide whether he is put under so called SAM, special administrative measures, which is another word for torture and isolation and horrible prison conditions. So his fate on USA ground would be in the hands of those who are planning to kidnap and kill him, those should be reason enough.”

SOT, Kristinn Hrafnsson, Wikileaks Chief Editor: “And another important issue to consider as well, is that when these discussions were going on about kidnapp or kill in London, there was no indictment out against Julian, he hadn’t been charged with anything. And actually, it is very clearly in the article that the main reason why the Justice Department was pushed to create an indictment was that they wanted to have an indictment in place if the CIA would go rogue and currently these plans forward. So, if there was any doubt about the political nature of the indictment and the creation of the entire case, it is now confirmed to be so, it is a political persecution, and nothing else.”
