USA: Protest against Beijing Winter Olympics held in DC

Dozens of protesters rallied near the Capitol building in Washington DC on Thursday against the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
The ‘NoBeijing2022’ rally was organised by members of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.
Speeches were held as protesters defied the rain. Some held signs reading ‘Stop Uyghur Genocide’ and ‘Boycott China’s 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic.’
“We call on governments around the world to urge the Chinese government to stop all the human rights violations,” said one of the protesters.
Ahead of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics slated to kick off on February 4, the protesters demanded a diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics in China by the US administration and governments worldwide.
