Fuelled by months of increasing racial and political tension, America eagerly awaits the outcome of the most divisive election in modern history.

If results don’t go their way, some groups on both the left and right gave said they’re prepared to take matters into their own hands.

Armed militia have been visible in public spaces throughout this election campaign, taking advantage of the open carry laws upheld in many states.

Organisations like the Proud Boys, Three Percenters, boogaloo boys and NFAC are among the heavily-armed militia groups who could take to the streets in the coming days.

With a final result not expected for days, there’s a fear their presence may spark yet more chaos in an already divided nation.
