Stella Moris, Julian Assange’s partner, was seen arriving at court with Wikileaks Editor-in-Chief Kristinn Hrafnsson and Member of Parliament Jeremy Corbyn, as well as tens of protesters who stood outside the Royal Courts of Justice building in London on Thursday for the Assange hearing.

“There are talks about the UK authorities being the ones doing the shooting. What is going on here? We’re talking about a journalist who took political asylum for fear of the political persecution that the US was taking against him, for fear of torture and inhumane and degrading treatment for fear of being put in prison for the rest of his life,” said Moris, speaking to the crowd.

As WikiLeaks founder, Assange faces criminal charges for publishing classified information.

“I don’t know what the outcome of the court will be today. I hope that he is allowed to stay and the appeal launched by President Biden will be rejected,” said Corbyn.

Assange was arrested by British police on 11 April 2019, after taking refuge at the Ecuadorian embassy for nearly seven years, where he was granted asylum.
