Turkey: Strong winds damage roofs in Istanbul amid deadly storm

The roof of a warehouse was caught on camera being damaged by a whirlwind in Istanbul’s Esenyurt district, Monday, as a deadly storm pounded parts of Turkey.

One woman died in Esenyurt after being hit by parts of a roof torn off by strong winds - which reached up to 130 km/h.

According to Turkey’s Natural Disaster Management Agency (AFAD), 19 people were injured, including three in serious condition.

The storm is expected to last until late Tuesday, the national weather service warned.
