Hundreds of Afghans wishing to flee into Pakistan were seen carrying suitcases and personal belongings through the Spin Boldak-Chaman border crossing on Saturday.

The checkpoint remained open despite the Pakistani government saying it was not in the position of taking more refugees from Afghanistan.

Pakistan has reportedly hosted nearly 2 million displaced Afghans since the start of the conflict in the country 40 years ago.
