Nine People Found After Tour Boat Goes Missing In Japan

A tour boat in Japan is missing in the waters of northern Japan since yesterday.

Nine of the 26 people who were on board have been found by the Japanese Coast Guard, however the country’s coastguard could not confirm if any of the people were alive.

The tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula is a difficult place to maneuver boats because of its rocky coastline and the tour boat sent a distress call confirming they were sinking.

Seventeen people, all said to be wearing life vests, are still missing, according to the Coast Guard.
