Northrop Grumman’s CRS-16 Cygnus spacecraft, dubbed “S.S. Ellison Onizuka”, was berthed to the Earth-facing port of the International Space Station’s Unity module on 12 August 2021, at 13:42 UTC (09:42 EDT). For NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services-2 (CRS-2) NG-16 mission, Cygnus delivers approximately 3720 kg (8,200 pounds) of research, crew supplies, and hardware to the International Space Station. The NG-16 Cygnus Cargo Delivery Spacecraft is named in honor of Ellison Onizuka, the first Asian American and the first person of Japanese origin to reach space. The audio commentary is provided by NASA’s Public Affairs Officer Shaneequa Vereen.
