NASA Test Most Powerful Rocket Ever Built for 2024 Moon Mission

NASA have conducted a test on their Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs), an integral part of a rocket they’ve built that will help send the US back to the moon.

The powerful boosters are part of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, the biggest built since the 1960s.

75% of the thrust in the first two minutes after lift off will be provided by the SRBs.

One of the rockets was secured to the ground and fired for two minutes in Promontory, Utah to test motor performance and manufacturing quality.

Each booster burns six tons of solid propellant every second and can generate a maximum thrust of up to 350lbs.
