‘Who is Giorgia Meloni? The Far-Right Leader Set to Run Italy’

Italy is on the verge of electing its most right-wing government since the fascist days of Benito Mussolini.

Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party is a direct descendent of the Italian social movement - a party founded in the aftermath of Mussolini’s death, by some of his closest fascist allies.

Meloni holds extreme views causing some in the country to recoil in fear. In her election campaign, she pledged to oppose surrogacy and adoption by gay couples.
