Iranian authorities have apprehended the leader of a US-backed pro-monarchist organization called Tondar, or “Thunder.” The group, also called the Kingdom Assembly of Iran, is blamed for carrying out multiple attacks on Iranian soil, including the assassination of a nuclear scientist and a 2008 bombing that left 14 people dead and hundreds wounded.
