Foot Chase

On 12-15-13, at approximately 2355hrs, Deputies from the Foothills District responded reference a domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived, a male subject ran out the back of the house and into the surrounding neighborhood. The department Air Unit responded for aerial support and quickly located the subject hiding in a neighboring back yard. As deputies were being guided in, the subject ran, discarding his backpack, which was observed by the observer in the plane, and marked for recovery. The Air Unit was able to continue to track the subject and eventually guided deputies to his location in the back yard of a house several streets away. The backpack was recovered, which contained illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and a knife. The suspect was also found to have four outstanding warrants for his arrest. Through the coordinated effort between patrol units on the street and the Air Unit, the suspect was successfully located and arrested.
