African leaders highlighted regional nutrition and security issues as being on top of the 2022 agenda at the African Union Summit headquarters in Addis Ababa, on Saturday.

Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali stated the theme for 2022 was nutrition and security adding, “over the past year, security in Africa has increased by over sixty percent, the effect of COVID-19 continues to aggravate our fragile economies”.

On security issues, the need for a ceasefire in the host country, Ethiopia, where a 15-month war has killed thousands of people, was also highlighted.
