Johnny Wayne is an ex-racer serving 5 years in prison after crippling a child during an illegal street race in Los Angeles. Wayne, traumatized by the events, vows never to race again and is soon released as a reformed citizen. As Johnny tries to restore his life and become an honest and hard-working member of society, his parole officer has other plans for him. Johnny finds himself being blackmailed into street racing by his probation officer and teased by his former street racing associates.
