Users of the social media video app TikTok have taken credit for a stunt to sabotage Trump’s Tulsa rally.

After claiming to have had almost a million people request tickets for his first presidential campaign rally of 2020, Trump struggled to fill a 19,000 seat arena in Oklahoma.

TikTok users registered to attend the rally in Oklahoma en masse with no plans to actually show up in an effort to prank the president.

It appears the stunt was co-ordinated by a 51-year-old TikTok user, Mary Jo Laupp, a Democrat campaigner.

Her video had received almost 700,000 likes prior to the event.

Tulsa fire officials say only 6,200 people turned up to the 19,200-seat stadium.

Trump’s campaign team dispute the claims and say it did not affect the attendance.
