More than 88 tons of humanitarian aid sent by Russia to Cuba arrived at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana on Sunday night.

The boxes with supplies, including food, personal protective equipment and more than a million masks, arrived aboard two An-124 Russian military cargo planes.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez thanked the supplies from his Twitter account, which he described as “a symbol of the excellent relations of friendship and solidarity that unite our brother countries.”

Cuba faces a complex situation of shortages as a result of the US blockade.
