Thousands of people took to the streets of Vienna protesting a possible vaccination mandate on Saturday.

As the Austrian government prepares to vote on mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations, protesters marched through the streets of the Austrian capital with signs demanding freedom and respect for their rights.

Freedom Party chairman Herbert Kickl was present at the protest.

Austria’s parliament will vote this week on the issue, after the government announced in November that it would make vaccinations mandatory. If approved, Austria would become the first EU country to impose such a mandate.
