According to NASA and ESA, the new radar observations of Apophis provided enough data on the asteroid’s orbit to rule out, with certainty, any Earth impact for at least a century. On 13 April 2029, Apophis will pass less than 35 000 km from Earth and will be visible to the naked eye.The close approach will not alter the asteroid’s orbit in a way that might increase the probability of future impacts.
